You can delete your GroFunds account and the data associated with it at any time. This page explains how to do it, what is removed, and what, if anything, we may retain and why.
Delete your account in the app
- Open GroFunds and go to Settings.
- Choose Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
This permanently removes your account and your financial data. Deletion cannot be undone, so consider exporting your data first (see below).
Request deletion by email
Prefer email, or can’t access the app? Send a deletion request from the email address on your account to privacy@grofunds.app with the subject “Delete my account.” We may ask you to verify ownership of the account before we proceed.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted, we remove the personal and financial data associated with it, including:
- Your account profile (name, email, and authentication record).
- Your transactions, transfers, wallets, recurring rules, goals, debts, and budgets.
- Your personal workspaces and the financial records within them.
- Your onboarding answers and app preferences.
- The local copy of your data on your device is removed when you delete the app or sign out and clear app data.
Shared workspaces: if you created a shared workspace, data in it may be retained for the remaining members so their records stay intact. Where required to fully remove such data, contact us and we’ll help.
What may be retained
We may retain limited information after deletion where we’re required or permitted to, such as:
- Records needed to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations.
- Information necessary to resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, and enforce our terms.
- Billing records held by Play Store under its own retention policies (we do not store your payment card details).
- Backups, which are purged on a rolling schedule.
Retained data is limited to what is necessary and is deleted when it is no longer needed.
How long it takes
Deletion from inside the app takes effect promptly. Complete removal from active systems and backups typically completes within 30 days, except for data we’re required to retain as described above.
Export your data first
Want to keep a copy? Before deleting, open Settings → Data → Export CSV to download all your transactions. Export is available to all users.
